I'm In LOVE!

We just got Die-Namics from My Favorite Things! I've tried them and I LOVE THEM! We ordered packages of 1/16" cork sheets too and when I used it with the Die-Namics, I'm not sure, but I think I heard angels singing "You Light up my Life". This package of Die-Namics comes with one die, 3 different borders to stamp and 4 sayings for everyday. I used everything in the package of Die-Namics on the cork and literally within 5 minutes, I had a card completed. The paper is from October Afternoon.

We've got everything in stock for now but everyone who has seen the sample has bought all of the products so don't wait too long!

Having a 'Ruff' Day?

In my family, we give gifts to our dogs. We celebrate their birthdays and they make out like bandits at Christmas time. I made this as a late birthday gift for Jack, my Mom's dog. Actually, my dog made it for Jack. (wink) If you haven't met Jack, he's something else. He makes an appearance at the store from time to time.

I cut sheet of paper to 5" x 11" and scored an inch in the middle to support the bones in the bag. I then punched the grass on green paper, layered it over the cloud paper, by A Muse. Once the paper is secured to the front, I used a Nestabilities circle die to create the window. The dog stamp is from a set from The Greeting Farm which we have in stock. I colored the dog with Copics and played around with his markings. All of their markings vary so it's easy to color them. You just have to get creative. The shirt he's wearing was paper pieced. Any small pattern will work.

This would make a cute gift for any dog lover and it's not difficult!

Feeling Flowery

Wow, it's been a long time since I've posted. What in the world???

I've been talking with a lot of people lately about gardening. I don't get it. If I have to be outside during the summer, there had better be a great looking guy (preferably Robert Pattinson) fanning me with a giant palm leaf. If I can't have that, I flip the central air on and stay inside. Besides, I've been known to kill all kinds of plants. Sometimes I think I can hear them scream when I come near them. I think I'm actually doing them a favor by not participating in gardening activities.

I thought I would make a card featuring a flower that I wouldn't have to take care and couldn't harm. It was really simple. All you need is a little bit of Fascinating Petals and some imagination. I cut a circle and covered it with the petals. Then flipped over the circle and started cutting around the circle. You just have to be careful that your cuts aren't completely clean. Otherwise it will look too circle-y (new word). I cut a stem and some petals and there you have it! This card would be great as a sympathy card as well. The petals come in different colors too so if you don't like purple, there are other colors to choose from.

Connie is doing the Make 'N Take this Saturday. It's gonna be a good one!

It Must Be a Sign

I made this card as a thank you note to my cousin using the new Jolinne stamps from My Favorite Things. How cute huh? I cut the wings out and popped some glitter on them to give them dimension. I also popped out her head

My cousin gave me a really cute bag of gifts for Valentine's Day and one of the gifts really touched me. This past New Year's Eve I started thinking that for 2010 I wanted to do something really big. I've really missed singing and performing. So... I decided that by the end of 2010, I would write 5 songs, lyrics, music, the whole shabang. I have two pretty much finished but found myself always writing things down on odd pieces of paper around my house.

One of the gifts in the bag was a blank hardcover book. Perfect for keeping my writing all in one place. Molly had no idea about my New Year's resolution. I think sometimes the man upstairs gives us encouraging signs through the smallest of gestures.

Grrr....Baby!

My Mom recently had a birthday. She looks really good for 49 don't you think? Wait a second...I'm 42. The math doesn't add up. Is Mom lying about her age again? Dangit Mom!

I love the people stamps from Inky Antics. This one is Laverne and I thought the card should measure up to her sexy bod. And what goes better with wild paper than a "Happy Birthday Wild Thing" stamp? I colored her with Copic markers (which we have in stock) and added a pearl necklace and bracelet using pearls from A Muse to match her ensemble.

If I'm lucky, I'll look as good as Laverne when I'm her age. I've got the pearls so I'm well on my way.

100% Chance of Showers

Wedding season is quickly approaching and this year my niece is going to be a bride. My sister and I are hosting a wedding shower for her so I have been searching for just the right games to play and food to serve. Then I remembered...shoot! I should probably send out invitations! Duh! My pulchritudiness alone is not going to get them there. Great word. The first time my Dad told me I was full of pulchritude I cried thinking he was insulting me. You have to admit, it doesn't sound like it would mean anything good.

So.....I love this set from My Favorite Things because you can use it for any type of shower except the ones that require water. A little coloring with Copic markers (Yay our order came in!)and some glitter and that is all the coloring it needs. The paper is from Bo Bunny and I used a Martha Stewart lace border punch to make the card even more girly. I hope my niece likes it.

If you have any good bridal shower games to play, let me know. The funnier, the better.

Hello Jell-O!

Our first blog post. How fun is that? I decided the best way to start this off was to share a card full of color. And what better way to enjoy color than with a big bowl of Jell-O! Smooth transition, eh? Did you know that on this day in 1981 - The largest bowl of Jell-O was made in Brisbane? (9,246 gallons of watermelon-flavor) That's a lot of Jell-O. Anyway....

Ok, back to the card. One of my favorite phrases is from Stamping Bella, "Life is too short for beige", so I just had to use it. The fashionista bella was hanging right next to it so I took that as a sign. And away I went. Now that we have a large order of Copics coming in, I'm back to coloring with them and LOVE it!

Our intention for this blog is to share cards we're designing and new products we're trying and/or carrying. We will also be adding blogs from customers and others that we find helpful. We hope you'll come along with us on this fun ride.
